Quiz Night Thursday 21st November 2024

November Quiz Result

It was good to see the clubhouse full for the November quiz on the 21st of November 2024.  Some 15 teams took part (photo  2 & 3). It was a nice place to meet on a cold wintery night (photo 4) with friends to have some food and answer a few simple questions. The winning team seen pictured with Captains Sue and Steve had an excellent score of 59 out of 65.
The result of the picture round brought its normal amount of groans (say what you see) with the Dingbat shown in (photo 5) proving to be the hardest, only 4 teams got this right. The prize winners are below:-

The night culminated in a surprise for the quizmaster John Simpson who was presented with the 'Stan Pearson Award' by Club President John Lowe (photo 6) for his work on behalf of BFGC during 2024. John said in his acceptance speech after doing quizzes since 1996, including one via Skype on a large screen from Morrocco in 2008 (photo7) and being the Seniors Secretary for over 10 years. "It's About Time'.
